Meeting with DCPS Chancellor Ferebee

Greetings Ellington Family!

The meeting with Chancellor Ferebee has finally been set for Tuesday, April 5, at 6:00 PM. One of the main goals of this meeting is to learn more about Chancellor Ferebee's position and vision for the DCPS-DESAP partnership. As you know they are in ongoing negotiations to update the DESAP-DCPS 2000 procurement agreement which outlines the governance responsibilities for the school.

We are organizing questions around governance, funding, Arts programming, and staffing. We would like to hear questions from parents from all departments, faculty/staff, and alumni.

There are three opportunities to submit questions:

  1. Registration for the webinar,

  2. Using the Q&A feature during the meeting, or

  3. Reply to this email.

The meeting is set for one hour. Any questions not addressed during this time will be sent forward for follow-up by the Chancellor and his team.

Please have as many of your parents register as soon possible. We had over 100 participants for the last SHADE meeting with Brooke Pinto and need to double or even triple that number. Both Chancellor Ferebee and Mayor Bowser need to know that we are all watching and aware of their responsibilities to Ellington during this election year. Please also share this with other alumni and alumni parents that you may know as well.

Note: We will still hold the SHADE PTO meeting on Wednesday, April 6, at 8:00 PM to debrief and discuss next steps.

You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
When: Apr 5, 2022 06:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Topic: SHADE PTO meeting with Chancellor Ferebee & DCPS
