President
The President serves as the public representative of SHADE before members of the public and other groups as needed. The president helps provide guidance in defining the goals and objectives of SHADE in conjunction with the Board, Ellington Parents and the administration. The President will also serve an an ex-officio member of both the Duke Ellington School of the Arts Project board and the Ellington Fund board.

Vice President
In the absence of the President, the Vice President will assume all duties. Vice President(s) may also be assigned specific areas of work, based on their professional expertise (i.e., membership, advocacy).

Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for compiling and distributing the agenda and minutes of all meetings to the membership.

Treasurer
The Treasurer manages the organizations financial affairs, accounts and related filings.
